Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia welcomes you to Seminar on Advances in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering for Elementary Schools (SAMSES) 2020 which will be held on 8 October 2020. This seminar aims to bring together academic practitioners, university lecturers and students, independent scholars and researchers to share and exchange the knowledge, practices, and research results on areas related to the implementation of STEM in elementary school settings. SAMSES also provides an interdisciplinary forum for educators and policy makers to present and discuss current innovations, developments, practical challenges, as well as potential solutions to issues in the fields of STEM for elementary school children.
Aim and Scope
SAMSES invites academic practitioners, university lecturers and students, independent scholars and researchers to present their research abstracts and papers. Contributions on unpublished results of empirical and experimental research in areas of elementary education are cordially invited for presentation. Dr I Gusti Darmawan is Senior Lecturer, Associate Head (International), School of Education, The University of Adelaide. He specialises in ICT, Science and Mathematics Education, Assessment and the measurement of student achievement, progress, and attitude, Secondary data analysis, Advanced quantitative methods and their applications (e.g. SEM and multilevel modelling), and Cross national and comparative studies.
Prof. Dr. Didi Suryadi, M.Ed.

Prof Dr Didi Suryadi is a professor of Mathematics Education at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Some of his works are Mathematical Problem Solving and Primary School Children: Some Essential Issues, Classroom-Based Studies on Teaching Mathematical Thinking and Problem-Solving in Japan and Possible Implementations in Indonesian School Mathematics, and A Review of Process Variable Studies in the Area of Mathematical Problem Solving, all published in reputable international journals.
Assoc. Prof. Wang Qiyun
National Institute of Education, Singapore
Dr Wang Qiyun is the Associate Professor in Learning Sciences and Assessment Academic Group. He is also the Programme Leader of the Master of Education (Learning Sciences and Technologies), and the Chair of the Ethnic Clearance Committee of the Academic Group. He specialises in blended synchronous learning (using real-time video conferencing), technology-supported learning environment, and education design-based research.

Call for Papers
Authors are requested to submit anabstract to the Organizing Committee by 31 August 2020. The abstract must contain the following section: introduction, aim of the study, method, results, conclusion, and keywords. The abstract must have no longer than 200 words.
The paper must be submitted two weeks after the seminar day. Please go to “Submission System” menu then “Login” to submit the full paper. Selected papers will be published in IOP Journal of Physics: Conference Series.
